- Many seeds and kernels of various fruits are rich in the vitamin, apricot kernels and seeds being on top of the chart. …
- Raspberries, elderberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and wild berries contain the vitamin in pretty abundant quantities
- Grains and Millets. …
- Eucalyptus Leaves. …
Quantities vary from person to person depending on their needs. Research all products before consumption. Consult your naturopath, homeopathic physician, kinesiologist or physician of choice. As with apricot seeds, always start with a small amount and slow move to a higher amount if desired.
Trish was a big believer in alternative cancer treatments. Specifically, she believed that people with cancer should consume B17, also known as amygdalin or laetrile. B17 occurred naturally in the seeds of apricots, peaches and almonds. The only problem with this was that B17 was banned in the US and contained cyanide.
Laetrile is the patented drug made from the natural compound amygdalin, found in the seeds of many fruits, such as apricot, plum and peach pits, apple seeds, and quince, as well as in almonds. Laetrile is also known as Amigdalina B-17 or vitamin B17, although there is very little evidence it warrants classification as a vitamin.
Amygdalin contains glucose, benzaldehyde, and cyanide. Cyanide is believed to be the active cancer-toxic ingredient in Laetrile. However, cyanide is toxic to all cells, so Laetrile’s overall toxicity is a concern.
In 1924, Laetrile was synthesized from amygdalin and promoted as a cancer treatment. By 1978, it was estimated that more than 70,000 Americans had tried it—despite its being banned in the US since 1963. Most people obtain Laetrile from Tijuana clinics, as the agent is still legal in Mexico.
That depends on the person. If they have a low blood pressure, they might not be able to handle a high dose. I couldn’t stand more than two 500mg a day because my BP was so low it wasn’t even on the charts. But I’ve heard a person should take up to six 500mg a day, but if the person is small in size and has low BP, that amount might be too much.
Dr. Krebs [who discovered B17] says “yes”. Cancer cells all have the exact same characteristics. Cancer cells, no matter the type of cancer, are known as Trophoblasts. These cells contain an enzyme called Beta-glucosidase, also known as the unlocking enzyme. When Laetrile comes in contact with the enzyme beta-glucosidase, the Laetrile is broken down to form two molecules of glucose, one molecule of benzaldehyde and one molecule of hydrogen cyanide (HCN). Within the body, the cancer cell-and only the cancer cell-contains that enzyme. The key word here is that the HCN must be FORMED. It is not floating around freely in the Laetrile and then released. It must be manufactured. The enzyme beta-glucosidase, and only that enzyme, is capable of manufacturing the HCN from Laetrile thereby affecting the cancer cell-and only the cancer cell. If there are no cancer cells in the body, there is no beta-glucosidase. If there is no beta-glucosidase, no HCN will be formed from the Laetrile.
You will need to determine the best amount for yourself. With that said most people find that one apricot seed for every 10 pounds of body weight per day spread out throughout the day is a good amount. You should build up to this amount over a few days or even weeks. Start with one apricot seed an hour and see how you do. If you notice any unwanted side effects like dizziness, headache or upset stomach, then you are consuming too many seeds too fast. Eating six to ten seeds daily is a very common amount. But remember to never over consume apricot seeds, always start with a small amount and slowly increase that amount if you feel you want to.
Although we cannot tell you how many apricot kernels to consume, the Health Department of Canada (Health Canada), recommends not more 3 per day. On personal note, we have been consuming 7-10 per day for over 10 years.
The seeds must be chewed and kept in the mouth for as long as it takes for them to practically liquefy. The best results have come when the person eats 3-5 seeds per waking hour. Vitamin B17 is water soluble and non-toxic. It is as safe as sugar or salt. Some people get nauseous if they eat too many seeds at one time, the same as if one drank too much salt water at one time. If this is the case, take a lesser amount the next time.
Prevention: Eating the whole food rather than taking a pill is always better. This means eating 7-10 seeds (kernels) a day no matter how bitter you think they are. Is your life worth saying “They are too bitter, I won’t eat them?” (Editors Note). Remember, only the apricot kernels have the enzymes that make the laetrile work in your body. If the apricot kernels make you sick or you absolutely will not eat them, then you there is the option to supplement with several other vitamin/enzyme tablets to make up for what you loose with not consuming the apricot seeds (kernels).
If someone has cancer, it is recommended by Dr. Manner (one of the pioneers of the B17 treatment) to take pancreatic enzymes and vitamin C. They can both be found in your local health food store.
Pancreatic enzymes occur naturally in: pineapple & papaya. Their job is to help burn away the negative protein cell wall of the cancer cell for the B17 to get in and fully destroy it.
It is very important to nurture the rest of your body back to working condition. Here is a list of helpful natural foods you can take along with apricot kernels.
Beets (strengthen the kidneys)
Vitamin D3 – naturally from being outside in the sun (or supplement)
Bone Meal (will help build up the bones again if you had bone cancer)
Chaga- known as the king of medicinal mushrooms – contains notably high levels of the DNA-protective antioxidant known as melanin, which fights radiation by activating the pineal gland. Known as an immune-system modulator, anti-tumour agent and longevity herb among many other qualities. Chaga is an excellent adjunctive superherb to support any cancer-fighting protocol.
Shiitake mushrooms (have been found to have an antiviral substance called lentinan)-known to stimulate the body’s immune system & deactivate viruses
Grape seeds (the actual seeds, not just the extract)
There are many different foods and herbs that have healing properties. It is common knowledge among scientists and holistic doctors that combinations of therapies are more effective than just one. Put together what you can with, of course, the key center, the middle core…the seed.
After approximately two hours of eating, our body starts utilizing sources of stored fuel for energy to perform daily tasks, as the blood glucose levels start depleting. There are higher chances of our body burning muscle tissue rather than fat which is unhealthy if you want a structured and toned body. Colostrum focuses on increasing your muscle mass i.e. your muscle tissue should weigh more than the fat per volume
Absolutely. Please find out if there is any success rate with chemo with the cancer you have. If the doctor says “yes” then ask him if he means success as in cured or success as in it might extend your life for a few months.
If you are about to have an operation where the cancer cells are going to be disturbed, it is wise to take the seeds and the Vitamin B17 to kill any of the free cells. Vitamin B17 can only help. It has been known to lower blood pressure and is one of the healthiest foods on earth; strengthening the arteries and heart as well as many other benefits.
By 1952, Dr. Ernst T. Krebs, Jr., a biochemist in San Francisco, had advanced the theory that cancer, like scurvy and pellagra, is not caused by some kind of mysterious bacterium, virus or toxin, but is merely a deficiency disease aggravated by the lack of an essential food compound in modern man’s diet. He identified this compound as part of the nitriloside family which occurs abundantly in nature in over 1200 edible plants and found virtually in every part of the world.
It is particularly prevalent in the seeds of those fruits in the Prunus Rosacea family:
Bitter Almond, Apricot Blackthorn, Cherry, Nectarine, Peach, Plum and Apple seeds.
Also contained in grasses: Maize, Sorghum, Millet, Cassava, and Linseed.
As we can see here, it is found in many of the foods that, generally have been deleted from the menus of modern civilization. It is difficult to establish a clear-cut classification for a nitriloside. Since it does not occur entirely by itself but rather is found in foods, it probably should not be classified as a food. Like sugar, it is a food component or a food factor. It also cannot be classified as a drug. It is a natural, non-toxic, water-soluble substance entirely normal to and compatible with human metabolism.
The proper name for a food factor that contains these properties is a vitamin. Since this vitamin normally is found with the B-complexes, and since it was the 17th such substance to be isolated within this complex, Dr. Krebs identified it as Vitamin B17.
